A good fit starts with your pet's measurements and the chart for the exact product. A Small in one brand may fit differently from a Small in another. Breed and weight can help narrow the choice, but they do not replace the listed measurements.
What to measure before ordering
| Shopping for | Compare with the product listing |
|---|---|
| Dog clothing | Chest girth, back length and neck measurement where specified. Check whether a chart shows body measurements or the garment's flat dimensions. |
| Collars | Neck measurement, adjustment range and collar width. Follow the manufacturer's fit instructions. |
| Harnesses | Chest girth, neck measurement and the adjustment ranges for that harness style. |
| Pet beds | Your pet's resting footprint and the usable interior sleeping area. Raised sides reduce sleeping space; overall frame dimensions are different. |
| Pet carriers | Interior space, maximum pet weight and how your pet fits inside. Strap length and exterior bag dimensions do not describe the space available to your pet. |
Find your brand's size guide
Select the chart for the exact style. Some guides contain several charts for clothing, collars, harnesses or beds; those measurements are not interchangeable.

Dog bed sizing and buying guides
Between sizes or missing a measurement?
Follow the guidance for that product rather than automatically choosing a larger size. If a measurement is missing or a chart does not clearly apply, email service@htanimalsupply.com with the product name, the size you are considering and your pet's measurements before ordering.
Download a printable measuring tape. Print at actual size and check its scale against a ruler before use.
Why weight alone is not enough
Two pets of the same weight can have different chest measurements or resting footprints. Use the matching brand and style guide above rather than choosing a size from weight alone.
