Description

In 1941, Charles Scanlon received his patent on the bright orange traffic cones we know today. Besides their practical safety use on the roadways, these cones have decorated such public monuments as the Duke of Wellington statue in Glasgow, Scotland and were made popular as a motel in the movie "Cars."
